You are going to get a biased view from me as i love poker and YES its a sport.
Points that agree with me:
1: A sport you have to be actively involved and skill that is governed by a set of rules.
Poker, well your governed by rules and your always active in watching other players, using your brain to strategically think of ways to take your opponents out.
2: Poker is on ESPN
3: Practice. Just like you do in any sport, it is essential you do for poker.
I can think of more points, but im tired. lol

of course, it exercises your fingers
No poker is not a sport, you do not have to be fit, you don't need to be an athelete so no it's not a sport.
It requires very good skill and the ability to read the "hands".
Definitely not a sport.

poker is not a sport if u look up the definition of a sport it does not fit as stated above u dont have 2 be fit it does not require physical training. poker is a hobby for some and is more mental. it may be on espn but only cause it is played in competition form and has decent ratings

I love poker...and I play all the time. However, it is not a sport.
Of couse poker is not a sport.
Foot is a sport, chess is a sport, but poker is gambling!
If it wasn't, there wouldn't be no international championships and stuff. Just like chess, which is considered a sport and also requires no athletic skills.
