For all you Americans out there, I'm about to get a new phone since my contract is expiring this summer.

The question is, which one would you rather have? They both got generally great reviews but I'm not sure which one. Sprint is the carrier for Palm Pre and I dont think a single soul in the US uses Sprint! But everyone has an iPhone...

    Decisions, decisions...

    Any suggestions btw?:001_tongue:

havent used the palm pre but theyre both great phones

iphone has a lot more apps (50,000) while the pre has like 40...lol.

also i think the pre costs less a month..iphones monthly plan is pretty expensive

Well since we have the Iphone up here now, I'd have to probably go with IPhone. A lot of my friends have it (I prefer Blackberry but haven't really tried the IPhone out yet) and they say it is incredible. A lot of free and useful applications (not to mention some payware), good browsing and email checking, easy to use, great functionality... these are all things they said when I asked them to describe it to me. So with that said and with all the buzz out on the net, for your money I'd go with Apple on this one.

iPhone 3G, ive used both extensivly, iphone = more apps, pre = plastic screen (lmfaoo) basically the pre seems to be built very unsterdy, i dont like that about it, also the 3G network has a much faster speed.

It's a provocation, right? Tell me it is. From all the internet conversation I've seen one conclusion comes out: you Americans know absolutely nothing about smartphones - iPhone and Blackberry is everything you see, while there are tons of much more powerful devices, often for similar price when unlocked (HTC, SE, Samsung, Asus, Toshiba, even Nokia with their new N97).

If you just bothered to take a look into the specs (asking ppl on a non-specialized forum is the last thing you should do) you'd see that iPhone is a silly toy in comparison to Palm Pre. More apps? Only because iPhone's been out there like forever now. Palm is just starting with its new (revolutionary) WebOS and it beats iPhone in every aspect, both on hardware and software level.

I wouldnt say you americans like that adenai. I took a little bit of offense to this, dont label everyone. ; Anyway you do have a point. HTC does have some really nice smartphones. I'll go with the iPhone for a reason you used to knock it down: its been around. More time = more things you can choose from. Just like when the PS3 came out, everyone was still buying 360s because it had more games. The 3 still had the same effect of the iphone: people went crazy over it BUT thats what made the 360 better (at the time).

MixKing: man.. the new iPhone OS (v3) brings just some bug fixes and improvements that should be there since the very beginning (like ability to copy & paste!), they just sell it as something BIG. There's absolutely nothing cool about it, yet another new ROM (normal thing in case of other manufacturers, seems like it's just some kind of great event for iPhone users, like it's a new phone).

And what I've said about Americans is - as I said - my personal observation. No offense, that just appears to be true, possibly because you guys there happen to be the place of birth of RIM and Apple simulateously not being the main market for companies like HTC that's just started to sell some android devices to US (I believe you can't buy Touch Pro in any plan, for example). Apple and RIM domination in US is a fact.

Palm is just rising from the ashes. They say PRE is an iPhone killer. The funny thing about that is that they have to say so and thus compare these both devices to draw people attention while in fact PRE is 3x more powerful. QWERTY, far more advanced CPU, real GPS and so on, and so on.

I would Have to say the new I phone I had the first gen from the first day it came out and the same with the 3g I'm gonna wait till I have a phone up for upgrade before I buy the 3gs though

Also I have had a Blackberry and a Treo and I think that the iPhone is a way better phone then both of these adenai is wrong about the software though he said it hasn't changed anything well on an old phone it hasn't but it brings new things to the 3gs like voice control and video

But the only way for you to find the phone you want is to go to there websites and find which one has the features that you need
