Default I am going to make a website!

But I would like your ideas and help.

I have nothing to do at home really and I'm not in school. I want to make a website but I don't know what to make it about or what I should do with it. I think I will try to make money off of it somehow too.

    Here's what I've been thinking.

I want to make a music website. I was thinking about a christian music website where someone would put in the name of a secular band and it will come up with a list of christian bands that sound similar.

Any ideas on what to add to that and how I can branch off of this idea to achieve awesomeness? Also, if I made forums for the site do you think people would join?

I used to use last.fm a lot. I don't see it. They show artists that sound the same but they don't convert a secular band into a list of christian bands.

    Unless I'm totally blind?

I know there's a sight similar in idea. It's a huge spiderweb, and whenever you type it a name, it'll show where the music lands on a coordinate plane where positive Y is like Calm, negative Y is Exciting, positive X is Classical (or something) negative X is Oldies (or something like that). Then it shows the artist on this spiderweb, and you can click towards different artists.

Really wish i could find that site, it's awesome.

Pandora radio is in the same gene.

Sorry I have no idea. =)

But why don't you try to start with something unique? Or start with a webpage about your own & your interests and slowly build that out? ^^ I am also planning to build a webpage, someday... And I planned to do it something like that. Still want to find a guide that guides you through making a webpage since otherwise I will stop halfway and than do nothing about it. ^^" Need a bit of a result to keep on going. =)

Also probably I won't join your forums, since I try to keep it at one at a time and I also currently have my hand full with all other things. My life is a bit messy at the moment. ( and also quite some moments back and in the future.) Need to start with something but in case of that I am doing nothing at home, no school, no work and going to get kicked out every moment. =) (this is probably going to be my third year... Believe me you are going to get sick of it... )

What I'm making is a site for new christians who used to listen to bad music or just not christian music and want to find good alternatives. It will find a christian band that sounds like a normal band. ie: Linkin Park would come up with results such as Thousand Foot Krutch.

Were you talking about Musicovery : interactive webRadio

    Don't double post. Warning given.

EDIT: I'm just going to act like that never happened. I completely understand that I double posted but it was because I had to quote something in a different post after I had already posted before. It wasn't a spam double post just to get post count.... =\
Edit: I know, you can also edit that in. ;) And I can't do it with noobs and don't do it with you. Would be unfair. =) Last thing spoken. ^^

It would be a good idea to research the demand of such a website before getting started. It may sound like an awesome idea to you, but not many others; or it may be in great demand. either way, it is a good idea to research (keyword popularity etc) esp if you wanna make money down the line. That goes for any website idea anyone might have. G'luck
