Default 1 TeraByte HDD for all!

    Face it,
The cost of storage has NEVER been cheaper.
1TB hard drives are easily available for under $100USD!

So this thread is all about 1TB HD's
Since nearly everyone can afford them, and we all most definitely need them

Lets get to posting about deals, reviews and everything else!
External, internal, even an internal in the casing of an external!

I'm currently in the process of trying to find a well-priced 1TB, and also trying to decide where to put it.
Since i'm not the only one, we should join together!

Any of you with 1tb hard drives out there, let us know how you like yours!

I also have the wd 1tb black one and its awesome. i've got no issues whatsoever. i'll probably end up buying another tb and get a hd fan. i've heard there are issues with the green wd drives so i'd stick to the black

indeed prices of 1TB HDDs have fallen drastically...only last October i bought 500GB WD for $80....and now i see 1TB HDDs going for ~$99!

    well i bought 2 X 1TB WD Black...at $98 per piece they are awesome...faster than green/blue series...

i have bought casings for both the drives as i want to use them as external storage......i didnt buy the branded external HDDs, coz they always charge you extra for the cheaper plastic casings....
instead i bought Transcend Storejet 35 casings for my HDDs...they did cost me more...but at least the sfaety and efficiency of my drives is ensured...

now would you people suggest a multi-bay enclosure for multiple HDDs? there are a few on the market....but which one? and which format? JBOD, RAID 0, 1, 2?

I love my WD mybooks. I buy 500 gb drives though. I feel that I would be better off losing 500gigs than 1tb.

Haha i know what you mean, I just want a 1tb for space and convenience.
Also, in even some of the worst scenarios you can pay to have data recovered.
So it's very rarely a big issue.

Im about 2 seconds away from getting the
    Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS
I wouldve posted the newegg link but i suppose it could be considered advertising and against the rules.
But yeah everyone seems to be happy with WD!

After reading almost every serious review and test possible (that's what I do before buying anything), Seagate FreeAgent XTREME seems to be the best choice at the moment - best notes were given by CHIP that gave it 100/100 in power and 100/100 in econo test in comparison to all other leading models right now (64/100 in performance which is best as well) - other benchmarks also didn't prefer other HDDs to this one.. but I can see someone already waiting for me to post that and reply that "seagate is shit! it broke after 2 weeks! don't buy it! caviar only!!!111exclamation" - that's how usually hdd-conversations look like.
