How Did you Start
I just wanted to hear how you started downloading files, Me I found out from my older brother who is a computer guru, I first started downloading about 2 years ago with Sharaza and then moved on with Edonkey then I thought there has to be a better way so i found out about downloading Torrents, Started out downloading with Piratebay then Isohut and then started to use private sites. Still learning about torrents and still looking for that perfect torrent site
Started with good ol' Napster, but quickly moved to LimeWire. Napster was starting to get a bad rep (although, this was the beginning. Even before the Lars Ulrich "incident.") so i shifted to Limewire. Then i heard about torrents, and used mininova.org exclusively. Soon after, i got an account at Demonoid, thinking to myself, "Hell yeah, i'm hard core now! I got in to a private tracker!" You can tell how naive i was. Didn't really download much the next three years. Then i'm at about 6 months ago, and i got back into torrenting, and i got heavy into private trackers. I, like yourself, am still looking for the perfect site. :P
Napster in Grade 10 (2000) along with Websites (the days when you could download Games or Apps directly from the website) lol
I started downloading files ever since the days of AoL...
You go to a chat room and when a bot listed a file you needed, you type in that bot's name and tell it to send it to you. Kinda like mIRC with xdcc packets.
After that I've moved on to small programs like napsters and limewires. Then my friend introduce me to a private tracker which I thought would be a lot of work keeping a good ratio. After I started downloading and realizing how rediculous the speed could be, I was hooked!
From there I wanted more and more trackers...it's like a drug! =P
Started with limewire and searched around at a few websites and found out about axxo and demonoid and the rest is history.
I started using IRC to get all different types of file then moved on to Napster for music. Then when Napster went out I started using Limewire/Morphious and edonkey. Now a days I use Frostwire for music, Edonkey I use for finding very rare appliaces and trance music. And Torrents I use for movies and everything else
Limewire > IRC > Browsing around > Looking for ways to increase download speeds > Found torrenting
started dl from limewire untill my cousin told me about torrents! thats when i rtarted using mininova and piratebay.... after demonoid i started with pussytorrents and still want to explore better privates ites

Started out with eMule and kazza, then a friend got me onto torrents and been using them since. Only very recently have I started on private trackers though. Also using usenet a lot these days, which is awesome and some rapidshare
