Default Why so many banned users?

I've been on the site a few days now, and looking through many threads I see a constant trend of users with the "banned" button below their name. I imagine they broke a rule, but as far as I can tell, the rules are not so overtly complicated (or even that restrictive) that this should be happening. Also, I would expect to see many new, naive users being the ones who are going crazy and getting kicked. Yet so many of them have 100's of posts and igiver points and everything.

I just can't comprehend why this is happening. Any thoughts?

There are, unfortunately, a lot of people in the world that don't have the common sense to not be jerks all of the time, or just follow some simple rules.

Because people are stupid, there are a strict set of rules here, and it's very easy to fall in line with them, but there are just some people that no matter how many times you tell them, they still break the rules. It doesn't matter if you've got 0 iGiver and 5 posts, or 1000 iGiver and 1230932 posts, rules are rules, and if you can't follow them, you're not going to be a part of this community.

The saying "Rules are made to be broken" does not apply here, broken rules = ban hammer.

Yeah, it's all about those people not following rules. Unfortunately this forum appears to have had many people of that sort.

I think it shows the staff is quite efficient though.

I agree with userlame it shows me there are many cheaters, liars, spammers and traders and that the staff does a very good job getting rid of them and a very good job in general.

heh ghost you make T-I sound so strict, and in some ways I suppose it is, however we are also an awesome community that simply love p2p =D. the irc is where you will find a lot of the action.

ethicks - it is strick, but it is for a reason, so we don't all lose our access to the various sites that we've worked hard for. If it wasn't like that, this place would be running rampant with losers, and it'd be impossible to give away invites to anywhere, without getting banned. So when I make it sound like it's really strict, that because it is, and it should be. There's a time and a place to have fun and horse play, but when you're dealing with people hard earned accounts at top level trackers, that's NOT the time to be horsing around.

And you're right IRC is where it's at, that's where we have all the fun! I invite everyone to come join us on IRC, that's where the all the fun stuff happens!

I have noticed everybody mentioning the IRC a lot, and I've been wanting to check it out (if that's where all the fun stuff really goes on).

Though I must admit, its a bit intimidating, since everyone seems to be fairly close-knit (its like I just started working a new job, and I'm still the outsider).

And I've never really used IRC very much, except for a short time a few years ago (ended up meeting a Filipino girl on there who I talked to for a while, but living no where near the Philippines nothing ever came of it. Thus ended my IRC involvement )

LOL well yes alot of members get banned for various reasons... abusing members, trading, cheating and getting other users banned from trackers. There are alot of reasons but as long as you dont do any of these things you'll be ok.
    i like stuff.
