I'm kinda getting tired of having to hit reload on all the different trackers that I use to see my ratio, amount uploaded/downloaded, etc.

Does anyone know of a PHP script or something that can be used to show the account info for each tracker all on one page? If not, I'm thinking about creating something that will do this to make life easier. :)

I haven't heard anything like it, but i would be eternally grateful if you made or found something. I check my ratios like a fiend, and going to each tracker just to look takes more time than i'd like.

That really sounds like a great idea!

Maybe take it a step further, and have it tell you how much you have to upload to reach a desired ratio (that you input) for a specific tracker.

Would you have to be logged into all your accounts at all the trackers for this to work and display your ratios?

You would have to be logged in to all of them for that to happen.

Maybe next to each of your trackers in the script there can be a login name and password field so you can login to each of them from the page too.

I really hope you make this. =] I spend so much time just looking at ratios.

i could do it, might get a small script up and working tomorrow. you could do it in almost any programming language.

id defiantly do php for web based - but that would cost money for hosting cost to host the script and bandwidth for a number of users using it.

alternatively you could make a desktop app in something like java, .net or even adobe air.

id defiantly do it in java tho

This sounds like a great idea. I hope to see flightcrank's prototype soon!! Free hosting for php should not be an issue at all.

I'm a front-end web developer at my day job and am a bit of a novice/intermediate with server-side languages like PHP and Ruby on Rails.

Something like the Snoopy PHP class could be used for retrieving the content. The biggest issue I see is how there are several different tracker scripts that sites use. Each site would need it's own regex to find all the data needed, then if they update their code or text it could break. Too bad none of the sites offer this type of data in XML. :(

If the site is hosted a server where users could create accounts, then they may be concerned about privacy issues since they would need to enter their login/password for each tracker. Also, if the trackers don't like it using their bandwidth/resources then they could ban the IP of the server.

Another issue is some trackers only allow access from two or three IP addresses simultaneously. This could cause problems using a seedbox and logging in from work/home/friend's house etc. If it ran on a server on your LAN this wouldn't be an issue, but this would require each user to know how to run Apache/PHP.

yeah the IP issue would be a real problem with some sites, a simple app is not worth losing you account over some accounts are hard to come by.

that's why i think a desktop app would be the best solution.

just so people know you can actually still use php to write desktop apps. with gtk as the user interface.

i still think java is the best solution. works on all operating systems. maybe adobe air
