Rap is mindless nowadays, hasn't had anything meaningful since the 90s. Rock all the way!

I actually like both rock and rap. It seems like many of the people who hate rap have only heard the garbage that's played on the radio. A lot of the 'rap' people hate isn't even rap.
Years ago I used to say all rap sucked. But that's before I listened to groups like De La Soul and Jurassic 5.

I find such comparisons kinda pointless - both rock and rap have grown from totally different roots and they use totally different techniques both in vocals and music production. These are - in fact - totally different music genres.

Personally I'm a rock'n'roller, but I respect good rap, I had my adventure with it, I met lots of great people listening to it and I still like listening to it myself from time to time. Some nu metal bands try to combine one with another and sometimes it plays off very well (Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, Korn). Some guests featurings are also great (Ja Rule - I know, he sucks - feat. Metallica, Aerosmith feat. Run DMC). And some rappers do it in a rock'n'roll style really great (Kid Rock).

even tho the above is not true (most of the teens listen to hip-hop but rock is more then 5% for my opinion).
my fav band is led zeppelin, and listen to rap only when i have to.

If you are a mindless drone/follower copy and paste this like the unoriginal child that you are. I hate when people spam that garbage all over the place. Rap is so generic and pointless if you are analyzing the words but the songs and beats are so catchy. I can listen to japanese music all day and I cant speak one word of japanese. Sometimes people feel more than the meaning.
