Thread: How old are you?

I'm a month older than the last time I took this poll. The one where the top bracket was "30+" then, too.

I discovered BitTorrent in 2001 when it had only been "out" for a month or two, and the "official" site about the protocol and how it works was the only site around pretty much. I thought it was super cool, I made some torrents (one for each track of an MP3 album :p) and helped a friend download the album from me. We were impressed, but also convinced it would never catch on because people were too lazy and would just keep using DirectConnect and KaZaA. Seems I was wrong, when's the last time anyone used DirectConnect? :>

29, and 30 around the corner. I found out about torrents at age ~15, when I got my first high speed cable internet connection - 128 kbps and since then, I was downloading like crazy for next few years. I had hundreds GB of stuff, that I never really needed or used, it was more about having it, but I got over it eventually.
