I bought the Razor Deathadder, but it was broken in box so i returned to later buy a logitech G5. I'm happy the Razor was broken because I haven't had a problem with my G5 since i bought it. Prior to that, i had a dual laser logitec that still works. Logitech seems to last a lifetime.
have had a logitech mx510 for over 2 years. Bought it for gaming at first but just general use now.
My favorite mouse of all time is the Logitech MX518. I think there is a newer one with the same form factor.
It's the only mouse I've found that fits comfortably under my hand, has a nice resting spot for my thumb, and has both the back and forward buttons (many mice exclude the forward button, or put it on the right side of the mouse).
I use it for general computery stuff and games...the extra couple buttons come in real handy, I mapped one to the talk button in ventrilo.
