    Default Streaming sports sites?

Hey guys, I'm a fed up cable subscriber living in NYC. I'm especially angry now that TWC and Comcast are having a contract dispute over the MSG network, so I can't even catch the Knick games. Meanwhile TWC just hit me with a rate increase.

I'm planning on completely cutting my TWC tv package, keeping only my internet service. The only thing I'm having a hard time with is reproducing the sports experience. I can pick up all of the local channels fine on antenna, but I'd like high quality feeds of networks such as MSG, ESPN, NBATV, and NFL network.

So far I know about Rojasdirecta, firstrow, and ilemi. While I'm grateful that sites like these exist, as they do offer watchable streams, the quality is a bit lacking compared to the HD feed from TWC. Are there any sites that I'm missing? Are there currently any private sports streaming sites similar to our private torrent trackers? If not, why not?

I use firstrow but I will be on the look out. If you find anything let me know and I will do the same.

Well I pulled the trigger and returned all of my cable boxes. Surprisingly, I am still able to receive ESPN3 feeds but I'm not sure how long that will last. I must say it feels good going from $200 a month to $35 a month for just the road runner turbo.

I'm currently using firstrow.tv for NFL network, NBA TV, knick games, etc. There has to be a huge pool of people who are in the same situation as me. I'm really surprised at the lack of higher quality, private sports streaming sites. I may be wrong, but I think the technology is there, things like streamtorrent exist.

I use this one Wiziwig.tv | Free Live Sports Streams on your PC. Watch Live Football, MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL and more... to stream my soccer games, and they have really good qualities, some of them are HD quality, just download Sopcast and run the desired game stream. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.

Well, that was quick. My ESPN3 feed stopped working already.

The best site for streaming football (soccer) matches I've ever encountered is footballstreaming.info. They sort the matches by country, league, language and by type of feed. Their best feeds are via SopCast (any Bloodzeed stream is the bomb!), but I have encountered some quality browser feeds at FSi as well, via wiziwig and justin.tv. I'm looking for some other sites with streams that have less "peers" for someone like me who has a low bandwidth (the interwebs in Beijing are the sux0rz). I'm right there with you @LeoNYC ! Any "private" streaming sites out there? Hit me up!

I have been using this site (Live Sport Streams, Football, Soccer, Ice Hockey, Tennis, Basketball / LiveTV) for the past week or so for the NHL playoffs. There is usually a few streams per event, and they give you a rating of the stream before you go into. I have viewed some that are pretty darn close to HD quality (I watch it on my 40" Samsung HDTV, with some minimal issues). I have used firstrow.eu and this is much better. Just a heads up, you may have to download SOPCast, but I would recommend it, I think streams using this tend to be better quality.
