Thread: TI - Fantasy Football League Discussion

I know it's a bit early for next season but it'll be easier to work out the details with more time. Everyone that took part in the TI Fantasy Football League had a blast with it (even though we all had to suffer losses to Ender). We had a few kinks with participation, both in teams committing to the league and not showing up to the draft, and also in teams letting their teams sit untouched for weeks at a time. To deter this we were thinking a League entry fee (to be placed in a pot for the winner) would be the best solution. I don't think $20 is an unreasonable amount of money for a league entry fee (outdoors shot down my thousand dollar buy-in idea :P), and it gives you some reason to not just say, "well hell, my team is already 1 and 4, I give up".

Additionally there's the issue of the draft. This year we did a snake draft with the default ESPN rules, I am personally of the opinion that we should do an auction draft next year, as it will seriously penalize all players who decide they can't commit to the draft time. All in all I had a blast playing fantasy, the competition was fun, and despite a few issues with players dropping from the league and some people who disagreed with the scoring system I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

This thread is a place to put out any ideas you have for next years fantasy league, anyone can post their opinion even if they weren't a part of this years league. Try to stay on topic and let's make next year even better than this year.

Well there is still an automatic system just the same for auction draft. In any case, that's pretty much already gonna happen unless the majority of you are against it.

Some planned adjustments to be made:
Second WR slot
DE, DT slots removed, second DL slot added
Coach and kicker values brought down a bit
Special teams brought down, D/ST increased

This year will start at $40 entry fee due by July 31st
There can be side bets added to this after the entry fee is paid and before the draft
At this point I don't plan on using any keepers options

That's about as far as I've thought everything out at this piont.
