There is an appeal to me for effective lifetime free leech service at hdt as is being offered. I imagine it would pay for itself at some point. The question is I suppose, How useful will the site remain to be for how long?

Lifetime freeleech for 100 euros is a rip off regardless of what tracker it is in my opinion. For that price you can get a basic seedbox, like a seed roots semi dedi ($15 p/m) for more than 8 months, in which time you can buffer mulitple TB's to most of your trackers, and the end result being you have the same effective free leech, and it won't be isolated to one tracker. Or you could pay more for a gbit seedbox and buffer as much if not more in a shorter time period. Either way, if you're gonna spend 100 euros you're much much better of going with a seedbox rather than donating to 1 tracker. Which you can't be certain will even be open next month. Remember, trackers don't last forever, and in the event HD-T closes down in a few months you will have lost a lot of your investment. It just is not worth it to donate for lifetime freeleech.

I'd have to say personally i'd definately go for a seedbox for plenty of resons...but i should warn you...it's verrrryy addictive ...especially if your home speeds not great lol

It's good to donate to trackers as they provide us with plenty of goodies...but at the same time it should be out of love and because of the benefit you have gained and not expect to gain....If there was a tracker i'd wanna donate to...it would have to be IPT

Now the advantage of a seedbox:
    1. You can buffer all your accounts
    2. Very cheap ($15 semi at seedroots is great)
    3. No long term comitment...buy a seedbox for a month....buffer all your accounts to probably more than you'll need for a year....and then don't have to renew...if after a year you need more buffer and the tracker is still around you can get a cheap seedbox again.
    4. You are not tied down to 1 tracker...if this one closes down...by donating 100euro you'd lose big investment and you'd be facing a problem again with another tracker then....losing your buffer at 1 tracker that you got with the use of a seedbox for 1 month won't hurt much (your pocket or feelings lol)...and best of all you'll have buffers at other trackers to fall back on which was made with that same $15 investment (spreading your bets...don't put all your eggs in 1 basket....call it what you want)

hdt has a helluva community tho, and one could argue, that is priceless ;)
