Thread: The meaning of The Exalted icon.

What's up guys? I'm going to teach you something today :)

After talking to some of you I realized that most users don't know the meaning of that red icon The Exalted have in their username (unless they are working as TI staff or have the "Reited Staff" status).
If you are not sure what I'm talking about here is an example: NaruDita

So, what does mean?

Well, I didn't know its meaning as well, so a few months back I started searching all over TI and somehow I ended up in a thread from 2009!
It turns out that is the Kanji symbol for Spirit: 気 - Ki (or Qi).

Let me show you the post where the creator of this icon explains why he chose it almost 3 years ago

I used the kanji for "spirit" ki (気) to portray that other characteristics accompany the class' inherent power. Ki has some other meanings in Japanese: "mind," "heart," "disposition," "motivation," and "intention." IMO, power is not enough for respect, many other abstract qualities are also important. Actually, even though I say in the post "most users" don't know what it means, the truth is that from everyone I asked (Exalted included) no one was able to give me an answer anyway, that problem is solved now! hehe

To be honest I actually never wondered what it means, but for those who did it's certainly an interesting read.
After reading all of the other applicants in this thread I'm glad that this was chosen as winner.
