Linux is for rebels, programmers, masochists and microsoft haters :D
but all in all, linux distros are developing with great speed and lets hope that they'll have bigger influence in the IT world, and maybe we'll soon play some games on it :D

Configuring your linux system no longer needs to be done from the command line. The KDE/Gnome desktop environments provide GUI tools to do this. In my opinion they could not be easier to use, even more so than windows.

linux is more stable no virus attack, but still have problems for some driver's hardware.
the advantage of using windows the presence of a lot of professional applications and games.

    Can you give a reason?

    Windows OSs are so restricted.
Linux is a lot better for programming.

Windows sucks, the only decent Windows OS is XP. Vista is SLOW.

I agree that Linux is WAY better for programming, but if I do get stuck with a windows box for a while I either install VIM for windows or ssh into a linux/unix box using putty.
