    Which ubuntu release and kernel version are you using? I have played with a few different distros for the PS3. Mainly gentoo, fedora and ubuntu. Then I realised something... PS3's are for gaming and not running linux on! I didn;t really need another machine running linux in the house. There are too many as it is.

    yeah not much work can be done using fedora.i had fedora 7 for ps3.i dont like linux its quite complex compared to window.

    It is probably not a good idea to conclude this based on your experience with PS3 linux. PS3 linux is more complicated than your average desktop linux distribution. Not having OpenGL on PS3 linux sucks too.

    yeah u r right.i was not used to handle linux but have heard quite positive comments about it.still my experience showed that ps3 xmb was better to handle its abilities than linux on it.

    Do you stream your media (movies,music etc) to the PS3? Which XMB abilities do you mean? I assume you are talking about playing high-def videos.

    yeah remote play using psp.using media centre abilities most of all i love streaming videos on my psp using ps3

    i am hoping some day we will be able to stream ps3 games using psp in a downgraded resolution that is a dream not arcade games but original ps3 titles

    I don't see that ever becoming a reality for PSP - It just isn't powerful enough. But perhaps this will be possible with Sony's next handheld game console (whatever it may be called).

    no somehow if we just have controls of ps3 and their display on our psp but processing is done by ps3 that may become a reality

    Ahh! That better explains it :) Yes that would be very cool. Probably not on the top of Sony's priority list though. I should really get a PSP one of these days. They are pretty cheap now, and I hear the homebrew scene on the PSP is pretty impressive.
