    I tried linux.
    It is too difficult.
If you are a computer programmer I can understand why
    you love it.

    But....
It does not have as much support with hardware and ect. Plus
    it can't really run games.

Linux is the OS of choice for me. Windows 7 is a vast improvement over XP but I still prefer XP to that. However none of them compare to the reliability, stability, and security I get right out of the box with linux.

My OS of choice is Ubuntu.

I think that the stigma "linux is for nerds" no longer holds true. I base this opinion on the fact that many netbook models now come with linux as their base operating system, and i feel that nerdy computer users wouldn't be caught dead with such an underpowered machine

i believe it's better to use windows xp for gaming
Linux is for your expiremental work..:p
vista is a piece of crap and i think windows 7 will be a resource hog like vista

xp is the best with some tweaks / mods added to it

It takes a while to get it to work well but once you manage to do that, Linux is way better than Windows...
I, for one, like it better because you don't need to use an antivirus as there is but a small percent of viruses designed for Linux, the great community that always develops software and addons, lots of freeware available.
It is a little hard to install hardware that doesn't come already installed but once you managed that, you're off for more fun.

Couldn't have said it better myself, I know linux is faster, better, cheaper, more stable... everything good. But even after getting familiar with it, I just don't like it. Can't put my finger on it, it's just weird. Win 7 and Mac for me.
