    Default Facebook will die soon

I don't know if this is new or not but i've eard today that the same author from the Sony sites attacks some months ago, is planning to (attempt) shut down Facebook servers...

IMO, i would like to see the end of facebook... I use it but i'm not addicted to it...

What about you? Can you live without facebook?

    xD

    Interesting.
I'm not addicted + I don't have free time for FB
I only visit it on Thursday (my only free day for now) for about 30-60 minutes, or even less.
I'd love to see addicted people's reaction when FB goes down for few days.... ^^

Unless it actually happens I'm not going to consider switching to any other networking site. Even then unless my own data was compromised in a big way I wouldn't switch. The thing is facebook is fast becoming a necessary evil these days (for those that reluctantly use it) Almost all of my social life is planned through facebook first and things like a mobile secondly. If facebook got hacked they would only improve their security anyway which is a good thing because there are people out there that would do worse things with user information.
~ Yes I could live with out facebook but do I really want to? That's the question.

Why would we announce what we plan to do? Does it not go against what we are?

I heard this story, and that it was fake. (in the anonops irc)

Also, I have already switched over to Google+. I'm already connected to over a thousand people. Facebook isn't important to me anymore.

    Nice sentence... I like it...

Facebook and others are a tool, in nowadays, to make businness. I know that many companies build their own page in Facebook or Linked or Twitter and so on, because they save some money, building a professional and dedicated site.

Many people make money and make real businness via Facebook... But some years ago there was no Facebook or Twitter or Linked or so, and the world was the same or even better.

I think "things" started many years ago with IRC, then came MSN/ICQ and now we have Skype and Facebook and Twitter and Google+ and countless more...

I think we are degrading... The more options we have the less quality is offered...

Disagreeing with your last statement. Quantity does not equate to quality. New technology and/or the number of new technologies does/do not impair people unless they don't adapt or don't know how to, once you're in the digital age you stay in the digital age. What I mean by this is if you understand IRC you will understand msn, if you understand myspace you will understand facebook...do you see what I'm saying? Just because here are a greater number of social interfaces it doesn't mean the quality of them has degraded. If you think it has put some points up to back your statement, an objective one as well so it is more applicable than a subjective example. I just don't understand what you mean by this, it doesn't make sense at all because I could argue the opposite of that and still find valid proof. ~not flaming you, just debating against a point.

    I feel you...

What i did want to mean is that if i'm on IRC and MySpace and Hi5, and Twitter and Facebook and NetLog and etc, etc, etc, etc, i want be able to handle a good mantainence in them all, you see? That's too much sites to update everyday or every now and then. So, perhaps, only one or two of them will be properly updated.

This was want i did want to mean and not the quality of the sites... :)

Anyway we're going out of context... :p

I could live without facebook and i would love to see it and similars going down... xD
