Blu-ray on a laptop is an optical drive that lets you watch blu-ray movies in HD. These are also backwards compatible meaning you will still be able to read and burn files to CDs and DVDs
Bluetooth and WiFi are both wireless technologies and have nothing to do with Bluray. Bluetooth let's you connect wirelessly to keyboards, mice, phones, and cameras, etc. WiFi technology just lets you wirelessly connect to a network, like your home network and hotspots, etc.

oops, I didn't answer your question. The value of a Blu-ray drive all depends on the individual. Personally I have no need for one. I've never owned or rented a blue-ray movie, I'll never rip a blu-ray disc or ever buy the media to burn one. So unless you have a practical need for one then you really don't need it.

do you mean that bluray is the ability to see HD films or 3D films on laptop? whether it is software or hadware?
it's 100% hardware. i can vouch my left nut for it
bluray player is exactly the same as a dvd player with only one difference - it can read bluray disks. and as P2P_seeder said, it's not that important (atleast not for most of us).
What I mean is if you have in your possession an actual physical bluray disc, the only way you will be able to watch it is if you have a stand-alone blu-ray player or a blu-ray optical drive on your PC or laptop. You can still watch bluray quality iso's, h.264 remuxes, native .mts files in bluray compliant file structures, and/or HD 1080p/720 encodes on your PC as long as your on-board video or dedicated video card can handle it. I don't know much about 3d, but all I know is you'll need a 3d compatible monitor or TV in order to watch it.

To elaborate more on whatIMAGINE already stated, the actual 'physical' bluray player is of no significant value to us pirates since HD video can already be easily downloaded in a variety of formats easily decoded with software players.
