    Default iGiver page changes

Why have the changes been made to the iGiver page recently?

When viewing another users page, I can only see the feedback and no longer any date/username/thread url information it relates to.

How is this making it any easier to catch out cheaters/dupers if we can't relate it back to a thread? We are after all risking our accounts on trackers inviting members here, especially when most successful application posts in GA's are just an application post that is never edited to reflect receiving an invite.

I understand it's most likely for privacy reasons, but this makes a tedious inviters job (checking they are not an existing member via posts/igiver) even more difficult(providing they care to keep their account).

Interested to hear others feedback on it

Okay, I see now. The url link referencing the thread that the invite was received from is broken. Not sure exactly when this happened but I have to agree that without working links this is indeed detrimental to the one and only purpose of the iGiver as a record keeping tool.

The link is gone, the user who placed the igiver is no longer displayed aswell as the date the igiver was placed.

It's a pretty huge issue if you were say giving away SCC/TT etc and were trying to see if the applicants already had received it in the past as the igiver is now almost meaningless (apart from the comment if it mentions the tracker)

Truly, this is a matter of concern. This new system makes it easier for the wrong-doers to avoid being placed on the chopping-block and continue their harmful and detrimental activities with little hindrance. Also, I think it would be a good idea to make it a rule to mention the tracker to which the invite was received in the iGiver, I think this would make it a bit easier to weed out the bad eggs...

This is a security feature that the staff talked about in some length. The date, thread link and inviter/invitees name have been removed.

    To answer a few questions,
As for record keeping, staff (currently supermods and admins) can see all the info so the record keeping ability hasnt changed.

As for catching dupers, this makes it harder ofcourse, this is not why it was implemented, it is to protect ourselfs from tracker staff. With the old system, they can see who invite who to their trcker and at what time, it makes it very easy to track down and ban inviters and their invitees. This no doubt makes us safer.

As for mentioning the tracker the invite was for, this could be a good idea, don't include a thread link so that the times can't be seen but just say what tracker the igiver is for.

I'm moving this to discussion since its not a suggestion but keep your comments coming, good to hear what the member-base thinks. IMO, it does more bad than good and a poll would have been better before implementing but lets see what you guys think.

i find it rather stupid. i though it was already clear that if you were scared about the iGivers date matching up with the registration date, you could just ask the invitee to leave you Feedback a couple of days later. ahh, what do i know, right?!?!

Yeah, I don't like this. We're already taking a risk by inviting people via an invite forum. Taking away visibility of iGiver transactions puts us even more at risk. The iGiver is used like a tool to better evaluate the person I'm giving an invite to. Without visibility is like giving invites away blindly. Since this is a discussion now, I'm just giving my take on it. But if it's the staff's decision then so be it, who am I to argue. Just me tho, if it stays this way I'll probably never give an invite away again. But who knows? Maybe it is for the better.

All changes being made we already vigorously discussed by the staff of T-I.

While the relationship invite forums and trackers continue to get worse, we have decided it will serve our users more to help shield them from any negative tracker staffers that wish to ban members who are on invite forums.

Anyways, changes are still being made. We hope to make it so you can see the trackers/bonus a user has received while still shielding the date and invite giver from everyone but staffers.

Trust me when I say we care about nothing more than the security of our users accounts.
