Default $200 1TB HD full of HD Movies (.MKV FORMAT)

here in the philippines, there's this place you can buy a 1TB HD and they will include 1TB of blue ray or hd rips (movies and tv shows). last i checked, its around USD$180. you can fit around 200 movies. they have around 1000+ titles so far.

do you guys think its worth my money? btw, i have a crappy connection at home.

also, are there software which can play mkv files?

vlc media player is the most commonly used. Any idea what the brand of the drive is?

uhm i think its western digital although they change it depending on the stock that they get. i had the assumption that any drive is ok. are there crappy 1TB drives out there?

that sounds pretty crazy. but i mean the drive itself costs approx 100 (at least on newegg).. so i guess 80-100 profit for them?

it's not a bad deal if you have a poor connection

So you say the drive normally costs 180$ and they are charging 200$? So 20$ for 1 TB of HD movies? Provided they're decent rips and your connection is bad as you say it is then I guess the economics of it speak for itself, I piss 20$ up the wall per cocktail I buy for my GF when we go out on Las Ramblas.

yeh most software will play mkv, media classic, windows media are just two, all thats needed is klite-codec pack and media classic comes free with it:), the hdd sounds pricey though and not much fun, id rather put my own stuff on myself

It's worth of course.. As you'll get 1TB HDD and Movies.. And a large number of titles to choose and esp., when you're having a crap net connection..
