Thread: Wikipedia Philosophy Trick

I've known this trick for quite some time but I thought I would share it with T-I. Maybe some of you haven't tried it yet but go to Wikipedia, any random article will do. Click the first link of any article, but skip anything in parentheses (brackets). Repeat this and you will eventually end up on Philosophy. It may take anywhere from a few clicks to a few dozen clicks but eventually 94.5% of all articles on Wikipedia will lead you to the Philosophy article.

Let me know what's the longest 'chain' you get or if you get an infinite loop!

Okay, tried once, a chain of 36 links. It's not that strange when you look how some of the articles start: In modern philosophy x is y ...
But it's still rather funny that this happens eventually.

People play a similar game on 4chan relating to Hitler. But they play it to see who can get from a random article to the Hitler aticle in the LEAST clicks.

Like America ->WWII -> Hitler

I started at Ween and got to philosophy in 20 clicks. How many clicks does it take to get from Kevin Bacon to Hitler?

This is kinda cool :) Any idea how this was discovered? (more than a "stoned-idler-discovery" explanation desired :D )

Tried from the Powerman 5000 page last night and it took more than 20 clicks I think.

Started with the DJ "Kaskade" and got there in about 20 tries. This is a super interesting game haha, thanks for sharing

ok....the thing is "it works" wasn't working..it took so many clicks that after a while I got frustrated!

I definitely think that there's topics that will never end up there, it's just that there's a high probability that there will be ones that do. Keep trying, it can be surprising, when you think you're not even close at all and 2 clicks later you're there...haha
