Always had Nvidia. I have had a few problems (like 8800GT fan probs) but overall i prefer them over ATI purely because i have ever had an ATI card
I have an ATI with 512MB memory, and let me tell you. IT KICKS ASS! listen, ive been building PC's for years, and honestly the only difference between Nvidia and ATI is the price. people got for Nvidia because its just popular. if you get a good ATI, it will be 100 times cheaper and just as good as the Nvid. i picked mine up for £30 on ebay, the RRP was £190. the same spec on the Nvidia was £250. Plus if you have the a compatable motherboard, some card support CROSSFIRE, meaning you can hook 2 cards together and have double the power. mine is compataible but I dont use it because mine is powerful enough. I can play gears of war at full graphic settings on every setting and it runs perfectly smooth.
totally agree with Aszbaz, i have an ATI X1650PRO 512meg and it does kick ass.
Well, Nvidia really whooped ATI's ass with the 8xxx-series. But after AMD bought ATI, they are coming back strong.
If you want bang for the buck, ATI is the way to go right now.
I've never been a fanboy of either brand. Buy whatever gives most power for the least money.
ATI are the new kings of the GPU... with the release of the HD4870 and soon 4870x2 they are noew the new price/performance kings
The HD4870 is almost as good as a GTX280 and half the price
I have a BFG 8800GT OC2 which is a great card, my next upgrade will be a 4870.... cant wait:)
My laptop has nvidia graphics gforce 8400, and its defective like many of their products which are integrated into laptops. I believe the issue was weak die material, because of that I would go ATI.
I only had trouble with ATI cards so I definitely go with NVIDIA. The last time I had an ATI card reading the changelogs of their driver updates almost only consisted of bug fixing for games.
