Either one is good. They really go back and forth between who is best.
Nvidia always for me all my home buils systems have them bulletproof imho
all of the computers I have built recently are with ati, I think i should try new things though as their drivers are really pissing me off lately
ati, although not really a massive issue for me, they are probs both pretty similar reallly, except at the very top end, when things change around a bit.
nVidia all the way. 9800GT in here right now. 150FPS on cod4. :)
I owned couple of models of both manufacturers and for the moment ATI is alot better. It gives best money-performance ratio.

I personally perform nVidia, it gives me a lot better performance.
Both of them is good and deliver quality performance in terms of graphics, but if I have to choose only one, them I would prefer ati, because it cost less.
