Come on, you knew this day would come now that Amazon, Google and Apple have legitimized music lockers in the cloud. You read right. Catching on that Apple is expected set to make a chunk on its iCloud service, retailer Best Buy has today announced its own cloud music service. Dubbed Best Buy Music Cloud, the new service will allow you to stream music to your iOS, Android or BlackBerry handsets.
Powered by Catch Media‘s “Play Anywhere” platform, unlike Apple’s iCloud, Best Buy Music Cloud will require users to physically upload their music tracks to the service. What it does have going for it, though, is support for streaming to multiple different devices.
Available in both FREE and Premium flavours, Best Buy’s Premium cloud music service is set to cost you $4/month and will not include the music matching service Apple’s ‘iTunes Match’ service is set to provide for you at $24.99/year.
