    Default Introvert or Extrovert?

My girlfriend and I are on complete opposite ends when it comes to this. She is the one that enjoys the attention and having people constantly over at her place. I, on the other hand, feel the need to just kick back and relax by myself whether with a book, some music, or just staring up at the fan spinning while in my own head. I understand perfectly well her need of conversation and people but she doesn't seem to understand at all that I need a few hours a day to myself to essentially recharge.

What are you guys? Introverted or extroverted? Care to share any experiences or thoughts on this?

Introvert. Actually, I'm kind of socially awkward. I never really know how to start/carry conversations.

Used to be introvert, but got to be quite extrovert end of high school / beginning of university. Getting to know more people on the same wavelength made me open up a lot.

I think this is more about men vs. women. Women constantly want to talk about pointless things while man just want to kick back and relax. Modern psychology tell us that we are what society made us - you can change from introvert to extrovert and from extrovert to introvert. It is all about what you want not what you are.

i personally thing that division between Introverts and Extroverts is kind of stupid.
Everything depends of the situation the you are in, your mood in the moment etc...

And if you are totally Introvert you can easily change into Extrovert if you want to, and you will work on it a little bit.
It works in the other way also

Mostly introvert. I have no problem enjoying my own company. Tho at times, it's nice to hear from others.

You pretty much word for word explained my relationship whith my exgirlfriend! I wonder if that may have been a factor in the "ex" part.... I'm guessing so. Oh well, i'll describe myself as an (at times) extroverted introvert :)

I agree that it depends on the situation. I'm an extrovert when it comes to my small group of friends that I literally always hang out with. I host all the parties and such, and am quite animated. Of course, these are my "besties," as some of them like to be referred to, so, if I wasn't best friends with them, I wouldn't be extroverted. When it comes to people I know less, especially people I don't know at all, I'm super introverted, and generally don't like interacting with others. I think my personality is generally introverted, as I'm home quite a bit and prefer to do many things by myself.

Despite being able to be both in different situations. I don't thik it's easy to change from introverted to extroverted and vice versa in the same situations easily. For example, if I was randomly thrown into a group project with a bunch of people I wasn't familiar with, I'd have an incredibly hard time speaking out and interacting, unless the project had something to do with computers, since I love talking about them.

Introvert all the way. Who needs people?

It's cool to hang out with friends and such, but being alone is just calming. Besides, whenever you talk to people, they have problems. They complain all the time, then they try to get you to help. Bleh. I don't have to fix my own problems. (procrastination)
