How to play ps3 games without special stick

1 install official firmwar 3.55

2 install after the geohot update wich you put on usb

3 once you fnish you must have in sub games menu - install package filles

4 put ftp 1.2 on a stick an install it from 'install package filles'

5 install a ftp client (filezilla for example)

6 connect with ps3 ip and go in 'dev_hdd0/game/...there you creata a folder with the code name from game (exemple BCES00081)

7 copy the 'USRDIR' folder in you folder with specific game for the specific USRDIR(some games have special instruction)

8 wait for transfer

9 http://homebrewps3.com/downloads/ looke here for your patch for specific game and download it

10 put the patch on stick and istall it trough 'install package filles'

!!!!!do not update at official updates because will not work!!!!

How to update at Geohot?

Step 1: Connect a USB stick to your PC and create a folder on it called PS3
Step 2: Create another folder inside PS3 called UPDATE
Step 3: Download jailbreak.zip from “http://geohot.com/jailbreak.zip” ad unzip it to PS3UPDAT.PUP
Step 4: Put PS3UPDAT.PUP in your UPDATE folder and connect your USB stick to your PS3
Step 5: Go to Settings and choose System Update > Update via Storage Media
Step 6: You will be prompted with “Version 3.55-jb found”, click OK > Accept Conditions and Install Update
Step 7: Let the jailbreak work its magic and in a minute or so, and your PS3 will beep 4 times and then shut down.
Step 8: Power up your PlayStation 3 by using the CONSOLE BUTTON and not the remote.

Kmeaw Update

Kmeaw is an update wich you just take the game downloaded and put it on 'dev_hdd0/GAMES...

1 make update at 3.55 OFW(if you have already CFW go in service mode)
2 update at cfw kmeaw (http://www.ps3-hacks.com/file/267) (Service mode only)
Service mode
Shout down ps3(phat from that button behind console , slim deconect from power surge)
Power ps3 an hold the button until he shutdown
You open it again and hold the finger on power button until you here 2 beeps
Follow the instructions

3 install ftpserver and multiman(use by me,i recomand this one)/rogue warrior (other manager)
4 install this http://www.ps3-hacks.com/file/268 and start it before you star a manager
5 the rest is ike usb special
go in muliman select the game
and you press no at the next question
you will exit manager automaticly
put a original disc
and your game will start

Remember this:

Kmeaw is an update wich you just take the game downloaded and put it on 'dev_hdd0/GAMES...

that mean that you must put your dowloaded game in dev_hdd0/GAMES no matter what.

kmeaw is better than geohot because you don't need a patch,you just put the game how is it.

Now the time for buying PS3...

Sony is actively pursuing the creators of this hack. I wouldn't be surprised if they release firmware updates to patch this method and sue anyone developing hacks in order to scare them off.

Sony already has a restraining order on geohot. If you look at his page all the links have been removed. There are better ways of jailbreaking than geohots anyway. at least until more coders hit it up.

kmeaw is what i got, and i love the fact that you can save games to the HDD. I just installed a 750gb internal HDD and it's awesome just using a backup manager to pick a game.
