Thread: [RPG] Magicka

Anyone played it already? I don't want to start it without surely knowing it's worth it.

For those who don't know it's a "parody" RPG by Paradox Interactive (Hearts of Iron, etc.) and Arrowhead Game Studios (debut project for them).

The interesting part is a spellcasting system: there are 5 elements: fire, water, earth, lightning and <forgot>, you have 5 slots for each spell so 2 water and 3 fire will get you a steam beam. You can cast 3 types of spells: damage, life and shield so fire + shield will give you a fire wall. Also you can cast spells a) on yourself, b) aroung yourself, c) on distance plus each spell has 5 levels of power.



To me that sounds like a really promising system.

I had actually completely passed on that without bothering to look up info on it...Looks hilarious. Might have to try it. Will let ya know if no one else post up about it.

Took note of it today, it looks really good! It's for PC and 360. Didn't say Retail or Arcade for 360 though. But my guess is arcade, so I'm getting it there.

really looks fun but he told me that it was a lot of bugs.

I bought the game myself. If you have a few friends to play with this is hilarious. Especially if you're a Swede since every dialogue in the game has a few Swedish words mixed in - related or totally unrelated to the subject :)

Regarding the bugs - yes it still has a few ones, me and my friends crash every now and then, but the devs are releasing a new patch almost every day. If you're planning to buy it, try the demo on Steam first. You can also check the forum at http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...lay.php?f=1071 if most of the known issues has been fixed.

yeap a lot of bugs, but they will patched it soon ;>

Q F Q F A A S - aka - 2x steam 2x lightning 1x arcane

you can also substitute the arcane for another lightning and do the AoE for max AoE dmg. :D
