Hello lads



I am not giving any invite away, thou one might call this a competition. It's more of a tips and tricks thing. Hope it gets funny somehow, and please, no cheating allowed. I also believe many guys in here are used to even higher numbers.

The true story as it follows: a little after I joined this sweet forum, I got a regular seedbox from a trusted company (read the seedbox forum to find out about it). The first invite I gained was IPTorrents so I wanted to make it right. I started some downloads on IPT among other files from other trackers I have.
The key is that IPTorrents has Freeleech on a bunch of files. So you download for free and since it's gratis everyone else wants it too. Therefore you upload a lot.
I didn't need anything from IPT so from scratch I was uploading like crazy while my download was not counting.
I guess ratio 104 is a big number cause I am working my ass off to reach ratio 3 on Torrentleech, which I have for long time. I don't carry many accounts myself cause I really want to use what I have and I am a heavy TL user. That 104 number already went down, but I am trying to bring it back up.

Please post your top ratio and if you care to explain how you did it, I'd appreciate.

That ratio is unbalanced and actually works against you for purposes of showing user activity.

By the way, thanks for using an unauthorized image hosting service. I'm browsing at work and I just got logged by my network for trying to access imageavenue.com :001_smile: . These are the authorized image providers: Tinypic, Imagebam, Photobucket and Imageshack/Yfrog. I even think tinypic is no longer allowed

The ratio isn't unballanced, they give you some download quota when you register. I dropped the ratio to 40 something when I started downloading for real and now the ratio is around 90, so that number is correctly fixed.

A good balance is 1:2. I'm not saying it's wrong to go over that if you just want to buffer or whatever but having a monster ratio is the same as being a ratio whore. Those download stats are indicative of an inactive user or tracker collector. I'm not calling you that nor am I against achieving a buffer but consider any uploads above 1:1 takes away from somebody elses efforts to reach a 1:1 ratio.



Here's a good example of user activity. Nice download, nice upload, old join date, and 1:2 ratio. He's doubled what he's downloaded and achieved a great buffer. (me )

Not if what you're downloading is freeleech. I tend to get buffer with freeleech torrents, and any non freeleech torrent I download, although I don't worry too much about it, I tend to stop at 1-1.
This leads to huge ratios like 15-1 (PWN Network, from the sitewide freeleech a week ago and 4x 40GB freeleech torrents downloaded earlier) and doesn't hinder anyone else trying to reach 1-1.

It's the second time I think you didn't read my first post. :laugh:
I already said that I don't collect, I am not a ratio whore. I think that 2 general trackers are enough, one is TL that I mentioned, the other is the subject, IPT (demonoid never counts, it's like TPB with a password). So I balance them, with TL being the one that I work on the most. If you take a close look on my ss you'll see all the trackers I have. From the top of my head they're five.

Anyhow, I like your input. Where is your monster ratio after 5 years seeding?

Look man, I didn't call you that. I said that ratio is nothing special. I'm not saying achieving a high ratio is a bad thing but that it's pointless and proves nothing. According to the screenshot you downloaded 2 GB and without looking at your snatchlist that's like 2 movies. That's poor user activity which is the imbalance I'm referring to.

I never claimed to have a "monster ratio" nor do I strive to achieve one therefore I'll never post a ratio for the sake of saying "look at my awesome ratio". I already posted a ratio here citing the reasons this proof is better than a ratio of 1:1000000. This is from a site that doesn't offer freeleech. Freeleech is a privilege not a right which is why IPT is recommended for starting torrenters. Everybody knows some trackers are harder to seed on that others.
