What's the difference between HoN & DotA?
Ive seen many ask this question, that it should be answered correctly.
What's DotA?
(Defense of the Ancients)
Faceless void ultimate.
Dota was made as a custom map for Warcraft III TFT in 2003.
At the start it wasn't that popular, but it grew over a period of time and followed by a lot of updates came the success. First DotA was made by Eul, then Guinsoo and at last Icefrog which still makes the maps today.
DotA is known as an advanced hero war, with a lot of possibilities. Now there's about 90 Heroes and the versions keep on coming.
DotA is both hosted by league bots which offers rank and by other gamers who have the ability to host Warcraft III TFT maps.
There's still many tournaments in DotA, which can be followed here: DOTACAST.COM - Defense of the Ancients Shoutcasting and Video on Demand -
What's HoN?
(Heroes of Newerth)
Chronos ultimate.
HoN was created as a stand alone game, with a DotA based gameplay. It was created by S2Games, which made a couple of games in the past, that never got nearly as big as HoN.
HoN have a more flowing gameplay and gives a more graphical side to the gameplay that DotA offerede.
Most of the heroes and items in HoN are based on the DotA's, but HoN is slowly developing more and more features to the game, which makes it more unique. Features like "Reconnect", "Follow", Customized search, Items and Heroes. HoN also offers user made Addons.
HoN is known for more serious games, because it's a game that only offers HoN, while Warcraft III TFT offers quite a lot of custom maps.
In HoN all maps are hosted by servers in S2Games, but as a user you can still host, by naming the map and choosing all the modes.
There also tournaments in HoN, which can be followed here: HONCAST.COM - Heroes of Newerth Shoutcasting and Video on Demand -
