Thread: Any poker players out there?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to get a roll call of any poker players out there. I figured this would be a great way to meet each other and maybe find some peeps to talk poker with.

So for this thread, if you play poker and would like to introduce yourself feel free to reply with some info about yourself. For example, what games you play and what limits, and any other interesting things you deem worthy. I'm also interested in holding a private invite game online so if that's something that might tickle your fancy, then let me know and I'll set it up!

So to start things off, I'll go first. I used to play a lot of small buy-in tournaments around the L.A. and S.D. area but I fell out of that once I figured that to be a losing proposition. The only tournaments I'm willing to play around these parts are the Harrah's Circuit Events because they offer the best BANG-FOR-BUCK tournaments.

I tried playing small stake cash games as well, but I've stopped doing so because they are mostly unbeatable. The only cash games I'd be willing to play in are No-Limit Hold'Em 5/10 and up. But, unfortunately I'm not rich enough to try those stakes yet.

It really wasn't until last year that I finally made an avid effort to improve my own game. And in an effort to rebuild myself from the ground up, I've undertaken the task of grinding up a bankroll from the smallest limits with the hopes of one day reaching the promised land of high stakes poker!



Which brings us to the now, where I exclusively grind the micro-stakes at Pokerstars. I'll play tournaments here and there but I'm focused on building up my bankroll in deep-stacked 6-max No-Limit Hold' Em cash games. I'll usually play anywhere from 6 to 10 tables daily for at least a couple of hours. For the most part, things are going okay as this year I'm still in the black and my roll is still growing. I'm sort of stuck at 2/5 cent -- hopefully I'll stop sucking soon!!

I love playing poker, but unfortunaetely I don't earn enough to gamble. I play poker with one month of my salary every year. :P

Last time I play I lost $100 though. lol. So not a good player but I just love the game. I have my own poker set and play every weekend with my friends (not for money as they are still learning)

I love poker. I don't play it online anymore. Its not the same. Just like ac8409, I play a lot with friends. We even go for real money, but not with big bucks. Just on the weekends with some girls and booze. Good entertainment.

Yeah,I do the same,some poker is good fun.I got a friend which made like 300k euros from online poker.It ticks me to start also online,but it should more difficult that it seems,xP.

Playing here at PokerStars and Fulltilt (Micro and Small sit&go and sometimes regular tournaments)

I play with my friends too and always as possible i'm studying the game..reading articles etc..

I just play with friends, like 5-20 bucks a night after a UFC or something, I dont bother with Casinos, or online or anything.

Wouldn't it be great if we have a poker in our arcade over here in TI?

Hmm, interesting idea. I've always wanted to make a Flash App version of Poker, just for fun and web-development practice. I think it would be pretty cool, even if it would be just for play money.

I used to be a big poker fan, and have taken a few big wins in my (big to me at least). I only play NL Holdem, and generally play big online tournament ranging between $10-$30 stakes. My 3 wins were between $1500-$3000 which I was very happy with :)

(Although 1 was in a $50+5 rebuy, where I was second chip leader at the final table, and ended finishing 8th. That was my biggest win, and I still wonder what could have been. Had my Full house busted by 4 of a kind. Absolutely gutted.

I've not been playing as much lately because I've been out of work, and went through a bit of a loosing spell. Still, I've been playing a bit again recently. You'll find me hanging around at FullTilt when I'm online
