iv read that the ps3 hack is open source and that someone hack there ps3 with a ti-81 calculator by porting the software from an iphone. more info from musclenerd's twitter
Uff... I'm not sure if I'd like to hack it though, Microsoft already bricked my Xbox 360 and the PS3 costs way too much to have it blocked too. Has anyone tried it?

This isn't correct. Someone is attempting to port PSGroove to the TI-84 Platinum/Silver Edition, certainly not the TI-81 (which is 20 years old, btw). This has nothing to do with the iPhone, and the latest from musclenerd is that he'd rather not port it to the iPhone (suggesting someone else should).
As of right now the options are through varieties of AT90USB---- based dev boards and the Nokia N900 (port titled "PSFreedom"). The "creators" of the PSGroove code have recently said that using the PSP for this is going to be harder than they thought.
If this is something someone wants to pursue, purchasing a dev board would be the best option as you could reflash/upgrade it in the future. The other option would be to try and purchase a clone when they (finally) go on sale. The problem with this last option is AUS has already ruled the PSJailbreak as illegal, so they will have to rebrand to sell there, and I imagine many retailers will hit this roadblock worldwide. Homebrew is a cheaper/faster solution if you can actually find one of the boards.
That is extremely ridiculous. Not happening anytime remotely soon.
Who know PSGROOVE is alternative to psjailbreak is a opensource and work good i have see on the web.... also on youtube....
