Thread: Riddles

This thread is for posting and solving riddles. If you have a riddle, post it and see if the rest of us are smart enough to solve it. If your smart enough, see how many riddles you can solve :D.

Rules:
1. Try to keep to known riddles. Don't make up a riddle off the top of your head and post it and don't post riddles that don't make any sense.
2. Try to keep only one riddle going at one time. It's keeps the clutter down and ensures no one feels ignored.
3. DO NOT LOOK UP THE ANSWERS. This defeats the purpose of this thread and is not fair to anyone.
4. If you have heard the riddle before say "pass" and wait for another riddle (if you can help it, this rule is sort of optional)

Be kind and courteous to others and most of all HAVE FUN!

I guess will start :

An explorer was wandering an ancient jungle when he was captured by hostile natives. As was tradition, the prisoner was brought to the village wise-man. The wise-man said "You have trespassed on holy land, you must be punished. You are allowed one last statement, if your statment is true you will be fed to tigers, if it is a lie you will be thrown off a cliff. The explorers last statement was so wise, the wise-man thought the man a profit and let him go unharmed. What did the explorer say? (clue: It was not something random and it WAS a statement.)

@OP: I have no clue. If you could provide a hint or two I'm sure someone will be able to solve it.

I agree I think it's a coffin. The answer to my riddle was: "You are going to throw me off a cliff." If they threw him off the cliff he would be telling the truth, they would have to to feed to tigers. If they fed him to tigers he would be lying and they would have to throw him off a cliff. :001_smile:

Lol! I never would've guessed that. That's pretty tricky. I have one, tell me if you've heard it before:

haha the birds shadow ive heard that one
these ones are fairly easy
1.What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries
2. You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?
3. What goes up and down the stairs without moving?
