    Default Good one!

    @ac8409: I prefer to read the riddle as-When does "I" come before "N"? Well, in case of a Thesaurus and a Dictionary. I actually remember this from my school days...The words were difference but one always came either before or after the other, in the two books! Good one, buddy! Thanks for helping me walk down memory lane!:001_smile:

    Okay, I have a poetic challenge for you....here goes..

    I'm born in only one color, but I vary in size;
    and although I'm stuck to the ground,
    I can still easily fly!

    I'm present in sun, but not present in rain;

    I can never harm, nor do I feel any pain.

    Who am I?

    All the Best!

    Mackenna:001_smile:

    Hey there, I found some funny ones in my riddle bag :)
    1. Why do jazz musicians usually have sweet personalities?
    2. A cowboy arrives into an old village on Monday. He stays for 3 days and then leaves on Monday. How is that possible?
    3. Why is number six horrified by the look of number seven?

    @ Mackenna: are you a shadow?? =)
    Btw, sorry I didn't reply to the other one! I do hope I got this one right :)

    Don't know this one.

    The name of the horse is Monday.

    3. Why is number six horrified by the look of number seven?
    Because 7 8(ate) 9.
    Here is one.
    What water does not come from the sky nor from the ground?

    Default You've aced it!

    @trevor88:You've aced my riddle! Congratulations!! Hope it was tough enough for you to enjoy answering it!!:001_smile: And don't worry about not answering the last one! It seems it was very easy....ac8409 "aced" it pretty quickly!

    @Majid:Thanks for figuring out the third one! I was inclined to think about it in terms of 7 which looks like a gun barrel(like in the Bond series), and so 6 would be terrified of the look of number 7 for it may fire anytime! The 7 ate (8) 9 makes more sense though!

    @trevor88:As for the answer to your first question-It's simple...All musicians( and Jazz musicians are no exception!) Jam together...Jam is sweet...Therefore Jazz musicians are sweet!

    @Majid:Is the answer to your riddle "tears"?
    By the way, I love and adore your signature and all the quotes you've mentioned-They are so true and also very inspiring!

    Yep, well done both of you!!
    Tho I think mine were a bit too easy... will have to come up with better ones next time :)

    As for the riddle of Majid, tears seems a good solution. But how about 'holy water'? That could be it too! :) Holy water comes from the church

    Default Here's another one!

    @ac8409: Yes...your right! They too qualify...:001_smile:

    @trevor88:Good point...Holy water does come from the Church...and the Church get's it's water supply from the Ground or Rain, if it uses Rain-water Harvesting techniques. But I guess, the same rule can be put forth for us.. Tears (or pee) is existent only because we refurbish our body's need for water by drinking water and consuming food/fruits which are again derived from the above two sources...I think analyzing the riddle to this extent would be a overkill! What do you'll think? Especially you Majid, since you came up with the riddle!

    Okay...To help you'll push your imaginations to the limit, here's another...

    They call me a man, but I'll never have a wife.
    I was given a body, but not given life.
    I was given a mouth, but was not given breath.
    Water gives me life and sun brings me death.
    Who am I?

    All the best!

    Mackenna

    Yeap the answer to my riddle is tears. As for the other things you guys mentioned, all seem to make sense.
    Lets go with a hard one now.

    There are 4 guys. A long bridge. It is night time and they want to cross in the shortest time possible. 2 can cross at a time and since it is night time one must return with the flashlight. The first can cross the bridge in 4 minutes, the second 5 minutes, the third 8 minutes and the last 13 minutes. If for example the person that take 4 minutes crosses with the one who takes 5 minutes, then we take the slower person time as they walk together so in this example it would take 5 minutes and then one has to return the flashlight and if say the 4 minutes person then it is 9 minutes in total.

    Therefore what is the shortest time that it will take to cross the bridge.

    Default Good one!

    @Majid: Good one, buddy! Love math...will be back with a solution soon...need time to work it out!

    PS: I somehow can't help but think how much I enjoyed the poetic riddles...the bridge crossing with lanterns revamps the situation into a Mathematical adventure! Nevertheless, its very interesting! Thanks so much for sharing it with us!
