I was talking about j'taging I had little soldering experience and I tried it and ripped a small resister off from under the cpu.
I am still a soldering n00b and was able to jtag a xenon no problem.
Take your time and do evreything carefully and its easy.
I always do alot of reading before attempting any project, to avoid any mistakes.
Modding is 10x easier than jtagging thats for sure.
Peeps seem to have probs with new liteon, again because they don't take their time and rush to get it done.
Is it possible to store the games on the HD like on my old school Xbox with a mod? I modded my old one way back when with a mod chip. That chip had 29 solder points that were way too tiny. I was surprised I didn't mess it up to be honest.
If you mod your Xbox 360, you will most likely be banned. It could come immediatley, it could come in 3 weeks, it could come in a year, it could come in two years. But the odds are that you WILL be hit by a banwave. If you can't deal with this truth and can't deal with the fact that eventually your Xbox will be bricked off of Live, then don't mod it, its as simple as that.
I was hit in the last Banwave with a 1st gen Xbox 360, which sucked.
There are a few websites out there that show you how to mod your 360 with a step-by-step instructional video...cough youtube cough ahem.
That's probably the easiest way. As long as you use stealth patching for your games and use the appropriate firmware for your optical drive, then there shouldn't be a reason for you to get banned. Just don't do anything out of the ordinary. e.g. Play games before their release date.
what I did is bought a banned console off of ebay for about $60 bucks and just use it offline for my burnt games ,If your a diehard online gamer I wouldn't take the chance on playing a modded console online its only a matter of time before something bad will happen but hopefully whatever you decide to do it works out for the best at the end of the day
I don't really agree with that. I consider myself a pretty serious online gamer, but I would highly recommend a modded xbox for live. If I get banned once a year (which is probably more aggressive than Microsoft has been) then I'm paying 150 a year plus $1.50 a disc for as many games as I want. In 3 games thats already positive. Even if I get banned, I can just get another modded console because I know I'm probably gonna buy/play more than 3 games from now till the end of the consoles life.
