Default How to play pirate games on XBOX360

I've found this tutorial Flashing the Firmware of your Xbox 360 DVD-Drive
If you know more intuitive tutorials please post them here.
    I have two questions:

1-It seems that the Phillips DVD drives have no firmware available yet. All the new XBOX 360 consoles have that drive? If not is there a way to identify the DVD drive from the box? lol I'm asking because the PSP motherboards can be identified by looking at the box codes.
I want the Xbox 360 to play pirated games otherwise I'll stick to the PC only.

2-To play pirated games I have to burn them to Double-Layer DVDs after downloading or there's any other way of doing this?

If you can help me with this questions I'll be very grateful. Thanks

Don't know about the philips part, but the burning part, yes you do have to do them to dual layers. That isnt really that hard. Guides are pretty easy to find on the google.

ill answer question one for you. Not all the dvd drives in the xbox 360 have those drives. The only way to make positively sure what type of dvd drive you have is by opening up your xbox (if you dont want to open it up to look at what type of drive you have, then why are you wanting to flash it :P)

yeah ABD is right, I've flashed 3 so far and the Benq and Lite-on look exactly the same from the outside you gotta open it up to be sure it will say it on the bottom right of the sticker i believe. and the Philips do have firmware now but the Philips lite-on are the hardest to flash you gotta get this thing they call the xecuter 360 connectivity kit v3 probe to be able to read the firmware from it. you first need to find out which drive you have but try this tutorial JungleFlasher 1.6.2 Tutorial for iXtreme 1.6 : Xbox 360 Tutorials
its better the one youre using is outdated.

Yea MasterYoda is correct. I have been flashing xbox 360's for a while. I have flashed 3 Lite-on drives using the Taio USB Lite-On extractor from ebay. I think it was like $35, well worth it for its purpose.

Use MasterYoda's link for the guide. I have flashed 100+ drives and the first time can be overwhelming. Read things over many times before beginning. Hitachi drives are the only ones that you can actually render useless if you screw up. The other three makes all had a bad flash recovery method. Be aware that there are new un-moddable lite on drives in some newer systems. (Manufacture dates of August 200 and later) Although if you look at these pics to see what drive you have:

Although I would hold off on flashing any drive as of right now. Wait for the new iXtreme LT to be released.

I had someone open up my XBox (the original) so that it could be capable of playing burnt games. He was a pro. He had this whole set up; cameras outside his house and all these hi-tech security thingys. Anyways, long story short, my XBox started to act up a few months later and now you can't play ANY games on it. So if I were you then I'd probably reconsider doing anything to the actual system. Just save up and buy the game. Unless you wouldn't mind if it broke.

Flashing a drive of a 360 will NOT cause damage to it. What damages the drive is people that use cheap media and burn to fast. When done correctly the system does not know the difference. My 3 Xbox 360's have been modded for over 3 years with out any problems at all.

As for calling someone a 'pro' because he has 'cameras outside his house and all these high tech security things'... how exactly does that make them a pro?

He let me come into his house and showed me around. I was a kid then so he didn't really think I'd tell anyone he was doing a number of illegal things. He also showed me the equipment he used. I could tell it was all very expensive. The guy was making serious money, which is probably why he had all those security measures around his house, etc.

I see your point though with the cheap media and burning too fast. That could have also been a problem. The DVDs I used to burn the games weren't the best quality.

You need to relax, though. Heh. I was only stating an experience I had and what I thought would be the wisest thing to do. Not everyone is going to be lucky enough to have their system modded for 3 years without a problem. I just don't think it's worth the risk. It's only my opinion. Take it or leave it.
