You can't play PS2 games on the new PS3s anymore. It is a shame.



I have a PS3, it is awesome it is also my blueray player and it works well for that. The games are great as well, and I have one of the older ones so I can still do PS2 games. I would probably recommend an xbox for someone under 20, the online play and the hackability of it make it better. I do not regret my choice though.

ps3 => high definition , best games

I own a 360, but if I couldn't pirate games I would have a ps3 now, Free online and a bluray player

my ps3 gathers dust and i would love to play it more, but there are a greater number of people on xbox live and this is where most of the people i know play. i think the system most of his friends have should be factored into the decision o that he will be able to play with them when possible.
also i cannot pirate ps3 games yet so i play 360 a lot more.

I love my xbox360, dont think I would trade it for a ps3
as a spare maybe but woudnt trade it

PS3 is a nice investment if you have an HD tv and dont have a Blu Ray player. That way you get 2 for 1.

PS3 is the way to go! very fast blu ray load times

Don't bank on being able to play PS2 games, that isn't going to happen unless you get lucky and pull a used system that has the capiablities. The only reason I can see to buy a PS3 is if the person your gifting as a "special" relationship with playstation. Like he/she is a fan of the exclusive titles (few).

Otherwise I personally believe 360 has it crippled ( I have both.. not a fanboy)
