40 gb is a hell of a lot for a lot of people. My ISP, for example, has a 60gb montly bandwidth cap. So at 40 gb a game, I'd be looking at only being able to get one game a month.

I'm sure it will be hacked at some point. Give it a few years, and bandwidth will be cheaper and so will recordable bluray discs, etc. By then, I bet they'll have it hacked.

The only reason i havent bought one besides the no games problem, was that it couldn't be hacked yet. I'd take hacked> backwards compatibility and slim size any day. Once it's full hacked and tried n true, i'll drop the cash. Xbox360/ps2/psp/ds are doin just fine atm.

Here's a great article explaining why the PS3 hasn't been hacked and most likely never will be: Why the PS3 CAN'T be Hacked - NextGenUpdate

This is in addition to the obvious issues that others have pointed out: Blu-ray burners and discs are still very expensive, and 40GB PS3 games are way bigger than the ~7-8 GB Xbox360 games.

By the way, not all Xbox360s can be hacked either. The firmware in the newest drives are currently unhackable with the current flashing software, but hopefully the xbox modding scene will resolve this problem soon.

PS3 can be hacked but the right minds haven't come together to hack it. There are a few thing you can do with the PS3.

There is always to hack anything. It may take a long time, but it will come around. Even if it were to be hacked, there is only like one game. Everything else can be played on PC or xbox360.

I don't think it will be hacked like for two years more, just prior to the release of the next (next) generation consoles. Personally, I dont find the ps3 gaming catalogue that atractive. I would like to play only 6 titles:

    Killzone 2
    Uncharted 1&2
    MGS4
    Demon Soul's
    Infamous

@monstrosify: you don't know what you are talking about at all.
The only reason the ps3 can not be modded is because it uses a blue ray drive.

lately I have been buying all my games for my ps3.
I'm tired of paying $60 for a service that I can get on ps3 for free.

and there is talk of the ps3 being hackable but apparently if you mod it you
can't install new firmware. there is an article i read a while ago about it somewhere.
