Most of my friends bought PS3 only for watching blueray movies, wonder if they'll reduce the price of PS3 games too.:)

Gah, good luck on the games price reduction. There's a whole bunch of stuff out there I'd like to buy, but you have to be kidding me. I'm not going to spend 70$ on a game that looks better than the 30$ Wii version of the same game. Especially with a softmodded Wii that I can download almost anything.

About time they dropped the price. Dont think it will help sales much as its not moddable.

Good stuff. PS3 is the best Blu-ray player out there.

mkv2vob allows you to remux .mkv files in a few secs/mins to be playable on the PS3.

Currently, I stream .mkv's using PS3 Media Server (easy google search).
    PS3 Media Server

They have some pretty good guides for performance settings in their forum. I stream up to 1080p and really don't have a lot of framerate or sync issues. Streaming seems to be a better solution for me as my external drive is not, and never will be, FAT32. A lot of the .mkv's that I stream are larger than 4gb anyway and wouldn't be compatible with a FAT32 partition.

Also, for those interested in checking out PS3 Media Server. It will dynamically update directory content. I tried a couple other media servers and they had to build a library that was manually updated - useless.

Good info. I'm glad to see the price cuts, I just wish they would do like apple did & reimburse the people who bought it for $400. Of course this won't be happening, but it's a nice idea :001_smile:
