I think that Geforce 285 GTX is better.. 295 it the best today
if you have alot of money choose nvidia

are you referring to the 4870 X2 or TWO 4870 cards in crossfire?
Under benchmarks, the 4870 X2 outperforms the 285 by about 10 FPS on average. However, TWO 4870s are pretty equal to a 285, if this were the case i would go with a 285 as it would give you room for upgrades in the future (if you wanted to do SLI) as well, one 285 requires much less power.
Both the 4870X2 and Two 4870's would require atleast a 750W PSU, as well as two 6 pin connectors. Where as a single 285 you could get away with a 650W PSU with one 6 pin connector.
It depends on your current setup, if it was me however, i would pick the 285 either way.

Same old question , which is better , i think the more compatible with ur systm can bring up better results.
2 x 4870 (cross fire) is way way better than anything else , if ur motherboard supports crossfire then go for it ..
4870 is only higher in the memory clock , overclocking is more stable with ati , if u plan to overclock .
we can easily get confused on what's better , u can tell us wht u got and share ur experience
