Thread: Spore, how good is it ?

So Spore got released in the UK recently. And its one of those games that I've followed on Youtube and other mediums. I'm wondering, is it the best game out there, or even perhaps the best ever made ? Is it as good as the hype makes it ? =)

It can be fun for a while. I have played for a few hours and it was pretty good. Apparently the fun starts when you travel to other planets, but I haven't had enough time to do that yet. Overall it is a creative game and you can really customize the creature you make and it does provide some great game play. I think it was a little to over hyped tho...

I might download this since my pc fits the basic requirements.

does anyone know if the logitech game pad works with this game it's the 1 that looks like the playstation2 pad ?

Spore is pretty good game... very time consuming and addictive though :) so be prepared for hours infront of the box :)

Sounds like most people like it. I'm keen on trying it out, and I guess I should, since it also runs on mac, which is what I use. I saw it got pretty bad reviews at amazon.com tho, I dont really understant why. Thanks for the replies tho =)

fun for the first 15mins then just gets longgg, its not worth it

I has such bad reviews at amazon because of EA's DRM system, you can only install the game 3 times, each time it has to dial up to EA's servers to make sure it is a genuine copy. If you reinstall it, or use it on another computer on your network it needs reactivation. Once you reach 3, you have to ring up EA and convince them you are not a pirate, and they give you 1 more activation and so on...

According to Xfire, I have been playing Spore for 18 hours.

It is quite fun in the beginning. I'm at the space-stage now and that is just boring, other ppl is attacking all the time and infected animals-memos all the time.

The first two stages was way to short.
