Thread: Arma II @DayZ

Hello T-I fellows :)

A friend told me this was a great game. After a quick search on internet too many people telling the same friend told. This is definitely a great game. So why not? Then i read @TheLaughingMan blog. So why not? I bought Arma II Combined Operations.
And yesterday i played it for the first time.

I made my first spawn with a weapon 2 bean cans a lot more items. I didn't realise how lucky i was... I got killed
That was a server with an high ping so i eventually left it.

Today i played it a bit more. First time took me 10 minutes to get killed. Both hypothermia and bleeding until dead were the cause. Second time i found a military camp. I really wanted to go there to find some supplies but there were zombies everywhere. Near there was something like an airport near. There were some warehouses there. One of them was full of zombies. I could hear them. Another one was empty. I entered there and i closed it's door. I found a tire there and another mechanical part which name i don't remember.
Outside i could hear some zombies. But well i was trapped. So i decided to take the risk and i opened the door. A zombie came running to me and i run for my life. 20 seconds later server got down.


This is a small story that you can read if you want. This thread is mainly to share your experiences and advices about dayz mod.
You can also make your questions and i am sure someone will answer you.

I play this with some friends and i couldnt find a single one of them on the map.
I'll start to watch some videos about people playing this and try to learn some techniques to survive more than 30 min

I was playing this for several hours. Well about 7/8, considering that the average lifetime on this game is about 30 min well this was a lot.
I have a pretty nice gear composed by a fn fal, binoculars, map, watch, an hauntingrifle, an hatched, matches, an alic bagpack well everything i need to survive. Except morphine. MORPHINE. I was looking to map to see where next city was when some zombie attacked me. He broke my leg...
Now i am crawling to berezino still more than 2km to go and considering that 1 km took me something like 30 min, i still have to press W 2 more hours and hope that someone doesnt kill me there (on berezino) before i get to the hospital.

Good Luck, even though I don't have a computer powerful enough to run these games I do know loads about Day Z.

1. Allways crouch in towns- Zombies will hear you and swarms will come rushing towards you.

2. Only shoot if you have to- If they have not spotted you then don't shoot. If they see you then of course shoot.

3. If you are spotted then run to the nearest building- You can pick them off one by one as they go through the doorway.

The most important rule of all...Trust no one If they see you have loads of useful gear then they will most likely act friendly but just as you don't expect it they will shoot you and it it game over.

Im still alive and i found a better sniper (a military m24) unfortunately without bullets. Now im on Devil's castle trying to find bullets to blow some players head xD
@TheLaughingMan any special finding?

Seems that we are the only ones playing this game

Yesterday we (as i play with 2 friends) found 4 heli crashes.
One of us has a DMR the other one has a fn fal anpv s4 and i have a bizon sd to blow some zombies.

Unfortunately we dont have any suit so other players can easily see 3 black dots walking on grass xD

Our journey until now was

Kamenka -> Chernogorsk -> airstrip near Bolota -> airfiel -> devils castle -> krasnostav airfield -> Berezino -> and back to airfield again (the biggest one)

Back to the beginning
