Thread: Battlefield 3

Hi is anyone played Battlefield 3 before it's based on a new graphics engine called frostbite 2 engine.It is truly the best shooting game i have played in years.

i love it. but i fear i suck! trying to get better. only level 8 at the moment. what about you?

I love it. The online gameplay is awesome if you get a bunch of guys who actually join squads and play using tactics (or if you make your own squad and all go on video chat).

I find Hardcore mode to be more enjoyable than normal though. The health is more realistic. You don't feel like you need to unload an entire clip into someone's face to kill them.

The only thing that sucks is the lack of 3rd person view in jets but it's fair enough. I just wish they'd bring back 2 person jets. TV-guided missiles and a spotter in a jet on hardcore would be amazing.

do you actually get more accurate and better with level? or will i always suck this bad? i find if i stand opposite someone and shoot they always kill me first! even if i start shooting first too!!

You get used to the game and your reactions and tactics improve. In the beginning, I struggled just seeing enemies because of the graphics.

You also have good days and bad days but the more you play, the better you get.

have the game but to be honest havent played it much i prefer mw3 the graphics are great but i have a hard time with the controls to be honest i suck at it lol ive heard its even better on pc but i dont game on pc because i cant do the whole keyboard control thing anyways it is a great game

I'm glad to see someone here plays Battlefield 3 as well.

I find it amusing that I was not able to even fly jets in BF1942 on PC (Yes in BF1943 for PS3) and BF2 but on BF3 with only a keyboard and I'm racking up kills

I find BF3 to be a good change of pace from Call of Duty of course. Hard to compare the two games cause they're soo different.

@AlphaOne, the jets and helicopters have been tweaked after BF2142 to be easier to fly. There's some flight assistance with both jets and helos but it's more obvious in the helicopters. You used to be able to roll helicopters and do backflips but you can't do that in BF3.

I remember playing BF2 online at a net cafe years ago and playing with this Brazillian guy who was circle strafing about 10 metres from the ground, avoiding trees and circling a building that my friend was hiding behind. He was quite the pilot.
