The music, the story, the magic and mysticism of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time captivated me.
I made a vow not to consume any time with video games any longer. I even severely cut my time spent on sites such as this one to focus on my education.
Christmas is around the bend, however, and I'm in a slightly festive mood. My parents are asking me repeatedly what I want for Christmas so not to get me more cologne or clothes.
I did a little researching (which also led me here somehow)- I knew about Skyward Sword for months, but wasn't the least bit excited since I've only been disappointed by the media in the past decade.
However, curiosity pinched me to check IGN and see its rating. I saw it got a 10/10, but remembered that Twilight Princess got a 9.5 and that was a piece of shit. I checked in on the actual article and saw the title "Ocarina of Time has met its match" which startled me.
In my shock, I went to bother my parents to get me this for Christmas (and new remotes for the Wii since my sister lost all of them [long story, don't worry]).
I'm still wondering, was it a good decision? As I meditate on this, I don't feel so bad. At worst, I end up with another shitty game that I'll ignore and that will drive me further from distraction.
I do sort of feel like there's the possibility that the game could be just as trance-inducing as OoT. I don't know what to say. Can anyone weigh in on this?
