Thread: Battlefield 3 (hype)

Do you like it or does it fall flat? Was it more hype than game? Give me your thoughts.

I think some aspects have been hyped to an extent. If you actually note, almost all of the game play DICE featured with epic battles etc was played with a PC. I didn't realize until I bought the game that the PC was the best console for it just because of the 64 player servers and awesome HD graphics. I dislike the fact that they so strongly nerfed the sniper class-with the M98b it takes two shots to the upper chest to kill -__-
I'm playing the support class and engineer at the moment and that is awesome fun, they are very strong classes considering they are extremely versatile. I love hitting noob campers and snipers with mortar shells and using tank mines on tank fans. The damage system is really quite good. I used to play hardcore in BFBC2 due to the bad weapon damage in non-hardcore. This time I think they have gotten it right though. I also enjoy most of the maps and the awesome unlocks you can get for everything. Imo it's a much more solid and 'worth it' release than some of the other shooters that have/will come out this year. Not mentioning names (cod, cough , cough)

Yea I was so ready for a great game and got a good game. Hope the COD MW3 gives me the "great" game I'm looking for.

Be prepared for another 'good game.' Whilst they may pull the rabbit out of the hat I expect most of it to be rehashed. I loathe to use that term but in this case
it's so appropriate, I think they have a lot to answer for. More so than DICE do, at least DICE re-made Battlefields graphics engine...To be honest MW has disappointed me since black ops. No one ever get's away with copy and pasting things in my book. If there is one game that I'm super looking forward to this year it's Skyrim. That's just my two cents though =D

I like it. Not really gave the single player much time yet though.

Recon is by far my favourite class. Really fun to play.

Also most/all games graphics are better on the PC not just BF3.

Battlefield 3 is my favorite game so far i eveen bought it but i am also whating to se modern warfare 3 ,the only thing i didnt like in battlefield 3 was the short campaign other than that it rocks

I agree the campaign was short and IMO one of the worst campaigns I played in a long time. The multiplayer on the other hand is intense, a huge step up in the FPS genre, and the most fun I've had with a shooter in a long time! My favorite class is engineer and assault, but I think all of the classes are done really well, and play an important role on the battlefield. The games vehicles are also done really well (even though the jets took me forever to get flares and then heat seekers), and I think this game really shines in those vehicle levels.

I think I'll be playing this non stop until skyrim rules my life lol.
