    Both of those are pretty good budget solder irons, when I used to work in a DIY store (B&Q) we used to constantly pimp Weller as THE brand but from the looks of it I think the Aoyue 937+ looks more user friendly and easy to get to grips with for a beginner. The temp monitor is a nice addition like you said, so I say go for it!

    Always use flux, and get your self some tip cleaner.
