    Default Resident Evil 5 rumors

Got this from here, sounds awesome if its true!

Link: Resident Evil 5 rumors - Zogdog.com Forums

Alright so a few minutes ago on "some website's private board" it was posted mostly in-depth old rumors and some new "info" which right now boils down to speculation. So I'll basically paraphrase what its all about.

RESIDENT EVIL 5 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

AI info -Resident Evil 5 will focus on hivemind AI, the more enemies there are the smarter the mob becomes...this also stacks when the plaga count gets higher and higher. Much of the newly injected strategy will become limiting the plaga count to survive, and avoiding the unpredictable AI. Some new behaviors will include enemies pushing one another in the way of the gunfire, playing dead (some gives to the ones that play dead will be so subtle that only players using HDTV's will notice). Another behavior is baiting the player into losing situations, etc.

Plaga info - Resident Evil 5 will feature a newly designed take on the plaga organism. Requiring the player to target specific areas, or only being able to be damaged at a certain tempature, or light environment. Plaga's will spring from almost every part of an enemy's body this time, as well as try to "drag" an enemy back into darkly lit areas to regenerate. Supposedly, one of the bulletin points lists this new threat as a mix between the parasite and the T-Virus allowing the parasite to regenerate itself under certain circumstances.

Weapon info - Resident Evil 5 will feature as many as twice the weapon count as Resident Evil 4. The new upgrade/RPG system allows for a heavy strategy element that seems to borrow heavily from Metal Gear Solid 4. Offering grips, different ammo, scopes, barrel extensions etc. The weapons are heavily modifiable this time around. You will also be limited in Resident Evil 5 what you can carry at any time and allow your partner to carry. Some upgrades will have to be waited for if you want them built. There is a much heavier weapon customization aspect to Resident Evil 5.

Crowd info - Resident Evil 5 will sport crowds that stem from the success of Dead Rising. The crowds in this game dwarf the latter in key areas. One is the stacking AI of the crowd, another is the strategy to get through them...devolving the AI so to speak to get out. Another aspect of the crowd sequences is epic sequences to show that Resident Evil 5 is much more leaning to the survival horror aspect in that your strategic mission is to survive. One said sequence will take place early in the game and will have the crowd slowly decend into a parasitic T-Virus mob. Your mission is to make it through with your clinging to death partner with no health pickups. This will be a much harder and cooperative mission when done through co-op...requiring trust with your partner. As you try to devolve a path through the ever smarter crowd.

Action Button info - The action button in Resident Evil 5 will be much more context sensitive that before and the context-sensitive cutscenes are now fully implemented into gameplay. Capcom has created a limited "free-run" context-sensitive action portion to the gameplay allowing players to choose between fight or flight...adding to the strategy. Resident Evil 5 is being designed as a much more difficult and strategic affair than its former. The action button will have a much bigger impact this time.

Campaign info - Resident Evil 5 has publicly showcased the first .5% of the campaign. While very similar to Resident Evil 4. The following portions are completely different and this portion will slowly learn the player to the rest of the game. Allowing fully destructible evironments, much more intimate strategy, and learning how to best figure out an area each time through (certain scripting and enemies are very different on each playthrough). The cooperative play will make things easier and harder, you must have trust with your partner. Also, special mention is made that this will be markedly longer in gameplay than Resident Evil 4.

^^Thats basically it, I pasted word for word on an occasional sentence but I had to paraphrase like hell. Everything starts with "Resident Evil 5 will..." so I hope you enjoy the speculation. Take it with a grain of salt but definately going to be an awesome game if all true. A fews screens and camera phone clip is promised in around the TGS times...so I'll see it I can somehow link you guys to that without being banned. Anyway, enjoy and speculate or flame.

Update: New bulletin points list that Resident Evil 5 will be a two-disc game on the 360 and will allow users to download the second disc to the HDD so as not to have to swap discs.

Second bulletin lists that the constantly ever evolving/devolving AI of the enemies will play out like an ever tilting tetris game one second your fine the next your screwed kind of thing. This was also partly implemented to preserve the tension and intensity the series is known for but also bring it to new heights.

The gameplays demos looked amazing. This is one of the games I can't wait for. The addition of coop is another good plus, and I'm glad to see they kept most of the mechanics that were in RE4. Don't fix what ain't broke ;)

I'm tired of the Resident Evil series already... They need to move on to something different.
