As a college student myself, whenever I go grocery shopping, I usually buy milk, cereal, eggs, bread, and whatever else I want to make a sandwich with. That pretty much fulfills my breakfast, lunch and dinner for the week. I don't know what you would consider cheap but that costs me around $20. As for health, I don't think it's that bad considering what kind of cereal I get and I usually buy whole wheat bread and lean meat for my sandwich
I have a nice list I use myself.
Milk
Bread
Cheese
Lunchmeat (whatever is on sale mate - if you can find like a pound for 5$ or under, buy it!)
Lettuce
Tomato
Cereal (big bag offbrand!)
Eggs
Pasta
Rice
Butter
Celery
Carrots
25-30$ for all that stuff, and you can live off of it for 1+ week if you need to.
One thing that is incredibly cheap and can be really filling is lettuce.
You can make wraps with tortillas.
You can all sorts of salads.
Fry up a chick breast, cut it up, toss it in a salad. Add ranch and your set.
Another thing I do is buy like 1 lb's of spaghetti noodles, cook them all at once, and throw it in the fridge. Warm up some tomata sauce, now you have lunch for 4-5 days.
I do this with rice as well, and then just make some sort of sauce to add on top.
I'd recommend snacking on carrots and celery.
Just get some ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce and its a very healthy little snack when you Hungary.
Fruits are also a good bet, they are more expensive, but if you find them on sale - buy em.
The cheapest meals are going to be white rice and pasta.
You can buy premade sauces or make them yourself which are also cheap.
With the rice though, you can seriously fry up an onion with canola oil and throw it on top of rice and its delicious.
I'd also recommend rice and then you saute one of those frozen bags of veggies on top. Delicious and super cheap.

Wow. I wish I lived with you guys when I was in college. I just ate ramen, water and whatever alcohol was nearby.
You forgot vodka, I am not your friend anymore.
I want food that is quick to make and preferably not some frozen dinner. The pasta is a great idea, thanks. Anything else?
If I were you I would try to get creative. I just go out and try to buy meat and vegetables that would last me a week plus the breakfast things like cereal, oatmeal, milk. Well usually I skip breakfast altogether like the majority of my roommates. If anyone you know have a Costco, Sams Club, etc. account you could get bulk items there. Also if there is like an Asian market or town nearby I find that their products are usually much cheaper. Also I found that a Safeway nearby usually have a lot of items they clear out or on sale after 12 midnight since it's open 24 hours. Experimenting with different cooking styles is key, and if you have roommates you can always bum some things off of them.
All I eat is meat and vegetables for lunch and dinner, oatmeal and soy milk for breakfast and I only drink diet/sugarless drinks.
Im probably gonna keep this in mind. Going to college soon and I cant cook for shit. Barely know how to work my F*ckin microwave
