New Way of Selecting Member of the Month

Hey everyone!

I am excited to tell you about some changes occurring at Torrent-Invites. From now on, the Member of the Month competition will be voted on by the entire community in a nomination thread posted here in the Announcements section. All members may cast ONE vote in the nomination thread for whichever member they desire. The staff will tally the numbers and award VIP Tier 5 to the winning member. We are also planning to create a special user bar announcing the winner's MOTM status, which the winners will proudly display, for the duration of their win. The next month they will pass on the bar, much like a pageant winner passes on her crown. However, their name and month/year they won will be forever immortalized in a special Hall of Fame thread, given solely to those who win this prestigious title.

Some of you may be wondering what happens when a member with VIP Tier 5 wins the competition. In the event this occurs, our moderator TheLaugingMan has generously offered to donate a seedbox to the winning member. Everyone please thank him for his kindness and generosity of spirit. And of course, the winner will also get to proudly display his special userbar during his reign.

Anyone can win member of the month. This competition is for those who are generous and giving with their time, effort, and of course those all important invites. So get posting, get chatting, and get giving if you hope to win VIP and that special gold bar!

The Exalted Council would also like to share some exciting news. From this point forward, the Exalted Council has decided to choose members they feel are deserving and award them with the purple status. This can happen at any time and has no direct correlation to the MOTM contest. That said, it is possible a member can win MOTM and Exalted in the same month. Exalted winners will not necessarily be chosen monthly, but will be chosen when a member stands out so much that the Council and Staff feel they can no longer be overlooked. This will prevent the Exalted class from becoming over-crowded, as well as give the Exalted the freedom to select whomever they believe is the most deserving and trustworthy member.

These are great changes - they make the Member of the Month vote inclusive - that is you can vote for whatever member you like and everyone gets a vote. And combining this with periodic Exalted elections means that more worthy members than ever will be recognized.

MOTM winners take away some nice swag too. Tier 5 VIP, plus the exclusive user badge for their tenure. And one of our Moderators has also generously contributed a seed box to those MOTM's who have already gotten Tier 5 VIP. Very positive news that gives everyone a voice and should further encourage and recognize our most valued Members.

These are some interesting changes indeed, I eagerly await to see how they all pan out!

Free seedboxes are loved by anyone and everyone that's for sure! And TLM is very generous to offer up such a prize in the event of a VIP 5 MOTM.

Kudos to all those who contributed to this idea!

Sweet, I like the various things you can do on this website, it just keeps getting better and better. It would also be nice to get a seedbox to.
