I could rant on how you obviously know very little about the Maya beyond a google search (to start, their intimate knowledge of the earth's rotation about it's axis every 26000 years, many things related to the rise of the white man, etc.) but guess that's another topic :P

What I know about the Mayans comes from a Latin American history course I took in college. Their belief system was based on bleeding people to appease the Gods, often high-ranking folks. Eventually, the realization struck that making people bleed didn't help avoid droughts and other natural inconveniences, so the Mayans disbanded. Obviously, you are easily impressed with ancient cultures and their "brillliance", but I live in a reality based on more facts than a bunch of numbers that conveniently add up. Also, save your grasp of what's "obvious" for someone who won't curbstomp your assumptions on a bed of needles.

Now, tell me what else you do with those little orange men in white overalls.

I wonder if people will still be replying to this in 2013. "Everything points to 2012" I hear that EVERYWHERE. Listen, if the world didn't end in 2000, or any other of the days it was supposed to, like the 3 in 2011, then this one should be no different. If we die, we die. At least it'll be painless.

The mayan calendar never incorporated leap year which was set forth by Alexander the Great. Which would mean the world ended almost a year ago.

Ok, so how about this? Most Mayans died off in the 1500's from smallpox, influenza and measles. The rest, studies show, died from climate change, and inability to adapt. The Mayans actually made the Long Count Calendar to celebrate once it was over. You can't really celebrate when a meteor is crushing you, tsunami is coming at you, etc. now can you?
You must really not read the Bible, huh? God says after Noah leaves the ark that he is sorry, and that he will never cause such destruction again. A sign was given for this, and called the rainbow.
Pole shifts, huh? Read this. 2012: No Geomagnetic Reversal
The Mayans didn't "defy God" any more than any other indian tribe, either. The Mayans didn't even have the most blasphemous or brutal ways of killing, torturing, or sacrificing people, either.
The chances of a solar flare destroying us are also very small. Here's another link. Solar flares won
